Why did you choose this Dojo?

Why I chose the Aikido School of Self Defense

" A martial art is something that I, thirty nine years old, have wanted to get involved with for many years. I found what I was looking for in this discipline, dojo and Sensei on a referral from a good friend who is a police officer. This style of defense fits with what I am after because it is a decisive way to defend myself and values while quickly disabling the attacker.

I have never had a reason to "fight" someone and this is not what this dojo teaches. Shihan Beckham teaches the art of Nihon Goshin Aikido and his classes are structured, disciplined and practical. This is a school that trains in an art with emphasis of mastery, not rank. After only six months of training, I have gained valuable skills, both physically and mentally and look forward to future growth over the years."
