The ROC is the gymnasium behind the old sanctuary. Park in the upper parking lot and follow the catwalk thru the side door to the classroom. Briefly stated, the Aikido School of Self-Defense seeks to train students to become healthy, fully integrated individuals by rigorous study of the art of Nihon Goshin Aikido - equipping them for control and excellence when confronted by physical threats, as well as the challenges imposed by the many roles of life: family, friend, worker, student, citizen. Joe Beckham Sensei began training in 1980 and has owned and operated the Greenville dojo in the same location since 1991. He was the first person in the Southeast to achieve ranks Shodan and Nidan, and is presently ranked Godan. Learn more about our instructors here.
